The Role

We’re opening our first Doom Juice hospitality venue in Marrickville, NSW, and are looking for a Venue Manager to lead it into its next chapter.

As Venue Manager, you’ll be hands-on from day one — owning day-to-day operations, leading the front-of-house team, and bringing Doom Juice to life in the physical world.

You’ll work closely with our founders and team to deliver memorable events, set operational standards, and build the systems, culture, and rhythm of a venue designed to grow.

What You’ll Be Doing

Venue Operations & Guest Experience

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of a wine-led venue, delivering consistently great guest experiences.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of functions, private bookings, and brand activations — from handover to execution.
  • Partner closely with our creative team to ensure seamless communication and aligned delivery.
  • Maintain high standards across service, presentation, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, RSA, WHS, and venue safety requirements.
  • Act as the on-site lead during events, managing run sheets, staff coordination, and guest flow.
  • Help design and refine systems, processes, and best practices as the venue grows.
  • Assist with venue socials when needed.

Team

  • Recruit, onboard, train, and support a casual front-of-house team.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture that reflects the Doom Juice ethos.
  • Plan and action rosters with efficient management of staffing costs and holiday requests.

Financial & Operational Management

  • Manage stock ordering, par levels, and inventory in line with event demand.
  • Track labour and operational costs to support efficient, sustainable venue performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, margins, and overall venue effectiveness.

Does This Sound Like You?

  • An experienced hospitality leader with a background in venues, bars, wine, or spirits.
  • Confident acting as an Approved Manager and overseeing liquor licensing compliance.
  • Comfortable being the first hire in a venue, setting standards and building systems from scratch.
  • A calm, practical leader who thrives on the floor and makes clear decisions under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of RSA, compliance, safety, and risk awareness.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and event-based schedules.
  • Ownership-minded, solutions-focused, and dependable.
  • A professional, positive presence who helps build culture from day one.
  • Legally entitled to work in Australia.
